Transportation and Parking
Whether you walk, bike, drive, or take the metro bus for free, we want you to have a smooth and safe commute to school. JStudents with a valid driver’s license may apply for a Student Parking Permit by following the application process linked below. All students can take advantage of free metro bus rides with an ORCA card or student ID.
Parking Information
Parking a student car on campus is a privilege. To gain and maintain this privilege a student must apply for a parking space online, get approved, and drive safely!
The link to apply for a Parking Permit for the 2025-26 school year will open on August 15th. Once your application has been processed, the fee will be added to your student’s account and will be payable here https://wa-bellevue.intouchreceipting.com/. The first day to pick up a pass will be on August 25th (Taking Care of Business day) at the Accounting window.
*The lot will be open the first 2 weeks of school to allow time for everyone to apply and pick up their pass.
Eligible students will have a valid driver’s license and current proof of insurance. Parking permits are required for any student parking in our lot, including those participating in WANIC or Running Start.
COST
The cost of the permit is $100 for the school year and drops to $50 at second semester.
- WANIC students with a permit at their home school will not pay a fee. If they do NOT have a permit at their home school, the fee is $20/period.
- Running Start students will pay $20/period.
Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
Metro Transit: Orca Card
All youth will be able to ride transit for free by doing one of the following:
- Tapping your ORCA card when you board and exit
- Showing your current high school or middle school student ID card
- If you don’t have either, you can still ride for free
Public transit is free for riders 18 and younger thanks to Move Ahead Washington, a statewide transportation funding package.
Students enrolled in Special Ed services until they are 22 also can ride free such as students in RISE and the Evergreen Transition Program.
To ensure ORCA cards stay active for next school year, register your card through King County Metro: https://info.myorca.com/youth-ride-free/
When Will ORCA Cards Be Available?
ORCA cards will be available for students at each high school’s or choice school’s Taking Care of Business / Orientation Day, as well as during the school year.
Any questions regarding ORCA cards can be emailed to: bsdmetrocard@bsd405.org

ORCA cards will be available for students at each high school’s or choice school’s Taking Care of Business / Orientation Day.
Every student who was issued an ORCA card from the 2021-22 school year needs to stop by the ORCA table with their ORCA card for an instructions label on how to register their ORCA card.
The ORCA Cards are active from the first day of school and will be good through the last day of school.
BSD Student ORCA/METRO cards are deactivated after the last day of school each year and new ORCA cards are issued to eligible students at Taking Care of Business days or during school office hours after school resumes in September.
